Happy Monday!

Yesterday around 6:00 p.m., I started dreading today.

Ugh the weekend is over already!!!
Why do I have to go back in the office already!!!???

I spent the rest of my evening complaining about a day that wasn't even here yet. My weekend was actually really nice. Busy, but well spent. It was great until the negative thoughts of Monday crept in. Imagine if I said...

Oh joy! Tomorrow is the start of a new week! Now I can do that thing on my to do list from last week that I didn't get to!
Yay it's Thanksgiving week and I get to spend time with my family and eat yummy food!

No, instead I created dread for a day that was coming whether I wanted it to or not SMH! And why not want it to come? That's silly! I could have just enjoyed the rest of my Sunday and woke up looking forward to a new day regardless of it's name. (SN: Now that I think about it...Why do we say the Monday Blues instead of the Joy of Monday? Poor Monday is just the biggest loser). I've decided from now on to speak more positively about Monday the same way I glorify Friday.

Just doing this blog has already shifted my mood, and I'm more excited about this week. Just like that! So happy Monday to you!! May this week be good to you and better than last. Let's all show Monday some love, and I bet she shows us some right back.

TGIM!! Okay maybe that was going to far LOL! Go get some coffee and read this again and maybe you will feel better :-)
Okay, say something good about Monday...NOW!

  1. Once, I raced to get to a special class thinking all the while thinking about how much I would enjoy the class. When I got there, all I was thinking about was what I was doing after class. Guess what the class was about? Being present. I remind myself of that moment when I find myself getting caught up in the future.

    1. It's soooo easy to get caught up in tomorrow and miss the moment. I'm trying to actively check myself. Live for today!! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. So true- I do the same thing sadly = / But I am getting better at it lately... because I started getting more mindful and appreciating my job more. But I definitely still have my days!

    1. Yup!! That's me. Trying to make "those days" fewer and fewer. Looking forward to the holiday, so I can recharge. Sometimes all you need is a break to recenter yourself :-)

  4. Awesome, awesome quote! If more people had the mindset that they are in charge of how they feel, the world would be a better place!
